Intermediate Surf Camp (9-12 years old)

This is an ideal day camp for beginner and younger surfers. Intermediates groups are set by age. The Intermediate camp includes up to three surf sessions a day and one hour land-based session of beach safety, ocean education and fun & games every day. Surfers return home most evenings except for Thursday night which includes an overnight camping experience. All pick up and drop off are at the Central Ferry Pier No.6. Lunch and snacks are included. All surfers receive a group photo and any additional surf photos are uploaded on our Facebook page for individual orders. Surfer’s should be capable and confident swimmers.

In order to give your child(ren) the best camp experience, it is required that you fill in a registration form for each individual child with all his/her health and dietary information. All registrations need to be done immediately following purchase of camp(s). After payment, you will receive an automatically generated confirmation email from us with a booking number – you will need to use this in your registration (please check your Spam folder in case you don’t find it in your Inbox). Click here for the registration form. Note – If you have purchased multiple camps at the same time, you will only receive 1 confirmation email with 1 booking number. This booking number can be used in each individual registration forms for your children.

Monday to Friday

Activity
7:45 Pick up of surfers by TIG at Central ferry pier # 6 (except on morning of overnight camping)
AM Two surf sessions with a snack, water & sunscreen break in between.
12:15 Lunch (TIG LUNCH OPT: Sandwich Buffet / Mac & Cheese / Sausage Sizzle)
PM Surf session, dry session with snack, water & sunscreen break in between.
4:10 Fast Ferry to Central
4:40 Pick up of surfers by parents/guardians at Central ferry pier #6 (except on evening of overnight camping)

Pick up & Drop Off

Days 1 – 4: Children will be picked up from Central Ferry Pier #6 at 7:45am. They will stay over on Day 4 so no pick-up on Day 5 required.

Days 1 – 3 and Day 5: Children will be dropped off at Central Ferry Pier #6 at 4:40pm.

*ALL CHILDREN ARE REQUIRED TO BE SIGNED IN AND OUT BY A PARENT OR GUARDIAN. PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU ARRIVE ON TIME AS WE WILL NOT BE ABLE TO DELAY THE FERRY DEPARTURES.*

If you live on Lantau, children can be signed in at Treasure Island on Pui O Beach at 9:30am and signed out at 3:00pm. Please inform us ahead of time as we will have to make a note on our sign in sheet.

Safety

Safety is our top priority. TIG is proud to have passed a third-party safety audit by ROSA -The Register of Outdoor Safety Auditors. The instructor to child ratio in the water and on rocks is 1:8. Dry land activities are at a 1:15 ratio. Camp has scheduled sunscreen and water breaks. Adventure Camp includes contingency activities for poor weather conditions. Our staff are First Aid certified (minimum) and trained specifically to work with children in the outdoors on adventure-based learning programmes. Pui O Beach is a gazetted beach with LCSD lifeguards on duty. TIG reserves the right to modify or cancel activities as necessary for the well-being of campers.

CANCELLATIONS & POSTPONEMENTS

Where TIG cancels a day of Adventure Camp, a make-up day will be provided. In the case of a government cancellation (T8, Black rain, etc), no refund will be issued, however there will be a makeup day available. If you decide to withdrawal from a camp, please inform Treasure Island no later than 4 weeks prior to the first day of camp. Otherwise, a late cancellation fee of $500 will apply. T3, Lighting & Red Rain storms, Treasure Island will still operate and provide contingency activities throughout the day. We follow Hong Kong Observatory guidelines and Windguru.

REFUNDS

Treasure Island will only provide refunds for two reasons:

  • If your child is unwell and unable to attend, TIG require proof of a medical certificate from a register doctor.
  • If Treasure Island cancels a day for unforeseen reasons.

WHAT TO BRING

  • Sun Hat
  • Sunscreen
  • Water Bottle (750ml)
  • Swimsuit/ Board Shorts
  • Rashie or Water-Shirt
  • Plastic Bag for wet clothes
  • Light Micro-fibre Towel
  • Rain Jacket
  • Water shoes (no crocs)
  • Personal Medication (asthma inhaler, allergy medicine etc.)
  • Spare T-shirt/shorts for after activities
  • Photo ID and Octopus card or money for the ferry. (Ferry Transportation is not included in camp fee) Please make sure your child has an octopus card with a minimum of HK160 (Add extra amount for drinks and snacks. Please note that TIG cannot control your childs’ expenses.)
