Adventure Camp (7-16 years old)

Got adventure sports in your veins? This is a day and overnight camp for adventures who want to experience a variety of exciting outdoor pursuits. They will develop outdoor leadership skills such as trip preparation, equipment management and self-organisation including a whole lot of fun! Adventure Camp has different outdoor activities every day, in various locations on Lantau island, with an overnight camping experience (usually from Thursday to Friday). Lunch and snacks are included daily. Adventure Campers must be capable and confident swimmers with good overall fitness and stamina.
MONDAY TO FRIDAY (TYPICAL PLANNED PROGRAMME)
|Day 1||Sea: Kayaking introduction followed by a mini expedition, beach clean and Rocky Shores (Pui O Beach)|
|Day 2||Rock: Hiking and Gorging (San Shek Wan)|
|Day 3||Mountain: Biking trip and Expedition Meal Planning|
|Day 4||Overnight expedition: Hiking, Leave No Trace, Fire-making, Cooking and Shelter Building|
|Day 5||Mixed: Return from expedition, Coasteer & Surf/SUP|

Pick up & Drop Off
Days 1 – 4: Children will be picked up from Central Ferry Pier #6 at 7:45am. They will stay over on Day 4 so no pick-up on Day 5 required.
Days 1 – 3 and Day 5: Children will be dropped off at Central Ferry Pier #6 at 4:40pm.
*All children are required to be signed in and out by a parent or guardian. Please make sure you arrive on time as we will not be able to delay the ferry departures.*
If you live on Lantau, children can be signed in at Treasure Island on Pui O Beach at 9:30am and signed out at 3:00pm. Please inform us ahead of time as we will have to make a note on our sign in sheet.
Safety is our top priority. TIG is proud to have passed a third-party safety audit by ROSA -The Register of Outdoor Safety Auditors. The instructor to child ratio in the water and on rocks is 1:8. Dry land activities are at a 1:15 ratio. Camp has scheduled sunscreen and water breaks. Adventure Camp includes contingency activities for poor weather conditions. Our staff are First Aid certified (minimum) and trained specifically to work with children in the outdoors on adventure-based learning programmes. Pui O Beach is a gazetted beach with LCSD lifeguards on duty. TIG reserves the right to modify or cancel activities as necessary for the well-being of campers.
WHAT TO WEAR EVERY DAY
- T-shirt and shorts
- Closed toe shoes (not crocs) and socks
WHAT TO BRING IN A COMFORTABLE BACKPACK (15-20L MAX) EVERY DAY
- Rain jacket
- Wet clothes (rash guard / T-shirt, sports shorts / sports leggings and swimsuit)
- Wet shoes – must protect the toes (old pair of trainers or watershoes)
- Microfibre towel
- Plastic bag for wet clothes
- Mosquito repellent (spray, cream or wristband – no stickers)
- Octopus card with a minimum of HK$200 or cash for the ferry (this cost is not included in the camp fee)
WHAT TO NOT BRING
- Phone or electronic devices (unless you have opted for your child who is over 13 years old to sign themselves in/out)
- Food containing peanuts or shellfish (we provide all food and snacks on camp)
- Sharp objects / knives
- Bike for Day 3 (we will provide this, however if your child has a favourite helmet, they can bring that)
- Tent for Day 4 (also provided by us)
CANCELLATIONS & POSTPONEMENTS
Where TIG cancels a day of Adventure Camp, a make-up day will be provided. In the case of a government cancellation (T8, Black rain, etc), no refund will be issued, however there will be a makeup day available. If you decide to withdraw your child from a camp, please inform Treasure Island no later than 4 weeks prior to the first day of camp. Otherwise, a late cancellation fee of $500 will apply.During T3, Lighting & Red Rain storms, Treasure Island will still operate and provide contingency activities throughout the day. We follow Hong Kong Observatory guidelines and Windguru.
Treasure Island will only provide refunds for two reasons:
- If your child is unwell and unable to attend, TIG require proof of a medical certificate from a registered doctor.
- If Treasure Island cancels a day for unforeseen reasons.
